I f I were beginning a video production class, I would always let the content drive the media. Not everything is a produced video or stills in motion. I would integrate curriculum with cooperating teachers as well. The students need to engage in what the content will be. Once they buy into the product can an outline begin. I assume you meant the 'student' performance question rather than an equipment question.

I have used video in the 5th grade classroom since 1981. More recently the students have been creating content involving character educ. traits, ecology and of course integration of fiction & nonfiction writing. We do a morning announcements show weekly. We edit with Final Cut Studio. Here's a link:
