Mac vs. PC for Video Editing

I've been involved with non-linear editing since the early days (Media 100 was prominent until AVID took over - then Macs revolutionized the world with Final Cut Pro, which I is what I use primarily). In the last 5 years, though, PCs have really stepped up their game by improving Adobe Premiere.

I am currently leading 12 teachers through video training, and because their district only supports PCs, I have them using Premiere Elements. It appears to be a solid, intuitive, easy to use solution. Personally, I so rarely use PCs, that I struggle with them (very similar to my Spanish skills). I have high hopes for what the teachers can accomplish using this software, and will keep you informed of their progress. Through this process, I'll be able to give you a side-by-side comparison of using each platform.

I have edited on 'computer' for over 15 years: AVID, Media 100 and Final Cut Pro. For the past 10 years I have used a MAC platform which has been very stable and quick responding no matter which app I use. I have not used a PC for editing in several years (as Tim might say, "Why would I?") so I really can't speak to newer PC technology. I do know what works and what the Pros use: MAC.

I have been trying to find out this answer...Have talked to experts and I have 2 mac votes and two PC. Still tied.

Okay, I am a big Mac guy, ..and I like the computers too..
So, I know a lot about iMovie.
Talk to me about Movie Maker...why would I want to use it?
