Where Kids and Teachers can learn how to make video

I don't know if anyone is doing this, but it would be fun to have students submit to a video contest as a project, this site lists the contests out there: Online Video Contests

Personally I think video contests are a blast and some feel like the show the apprentice, such as this one with a company brief MoFilm Contest

and the students could win some really cool stuff...I have a flip camera on the way from the MoFilm competition

I haven't done anything with contests in a classroom setting, but I would be more than happy to share my experience submitting videos and some of the nuances.

I teach community ed, but I love to make digital videos. Recently I have been entering my videos in contests...it has been really fun especially this one Mofilm

Mofilm is a company that works with big companies to understand how to work with new talent from around the world. I think it would be perfect for a classroom setting. They give you a brief that explains what the Best Buy, ATT, HP, ect is looking for in a community sourced video. They provide music for the background, images, and sometimes even video clips you can use. The coolest part is each company talks to you via twitter, it is like having a direct line to the head marketing person to see what they are looking for in, much like what they do in the show the Apprentice.

This latest contest is for the London Film Festival, if you win you get to go and show your video at the festival...really cool stuff!

If you have any questions I would be more than happy to share my experience with you.
