Where Kids and Teachers can learn how to make video

Hi,

I want to start a small project with greenscreen. I´ve done it before with backgrounds from still images. But, now I want to do it with some nice moving backgrounds from different places. Do you know a places where I can download free videoclips? I have tried archive.org, but I didn´t found those nice background videos. Any suggestions?

Take your own footage and insert behind green screen?

Or else you could find something on youtube and ask for permission to use it.

Try www.footagefirm.com, they offer free monthly shots and they off deals on some of their older material (some in HD) in which you get a DVD with several cuts free, just pay for postage (around $8.95). Just Google 'free video footage', you'll be surprised. As Mathew N. says, if you want something specific, you may need to shoot yourself. For a generic background, use iMovie, FC Express or After Effect to create our own animation using stills, logos, etc.

Thanks for your replies. I like fast answers... :)

My goal is to start a small project called: Among heroes and bad guys. And I want the students to discuss the hollywood approach to heroes and so on. And we will try some of the technics behind all the hollywoodstuff.

I have tried moving stills as background before. But it would be nice to have a bank of footage so I will do some filming in my area and try the tips from you guys.

Thanks again,
Anders

One of my favorite classes in college was a literature class taught by Dr. C.L. Sonnichsen, "From Hopalong to Hud", a great look at how the media deals with cowboy heroes and villians - a little dated, but great reading for us 'Old Farts.'
